Five Mobile Racers Worth Your Storage Space

Five Mobile Racers Worth Your Storage Space

Racing games on phones live and die by their controls. A gorgeous game with mushy handling gets deleted fast, so that's the first thing we test. The titles below all passed that bar for us.

Off-road racers like Dune Drifters lean into physics and drift, which makes every corner a small decision. On the other end, arcade racers keep things tight and reaction-based, trading realism for pure fun. Both approaches work, and it really comes down to your mood.

One thing worth mentioning is control options. The best racers let you switch between tilt, touch, and sometimes a virtual wheel. Try each one for a few races before deciding a game isn't for you, because the default setting is often not the best fit.

We also look at how a game respects your time. Long forced tutorials and endless menus between races are a quick way to lose us. Give us a car and a track, and let us drive.

If you only try one from our list, make it the one that matches how you like to play: precise and reactive, or loose and daring. There's no wrong answer here.
