Iron Frontier

Iron Frontier drops you onto a harsh, snowbound map and asks you to keep an outpost alive. You gather resources, build defenses, and plan out each turn against waves of threats that get smarter as you go. It's less about rushing and more about thinking a few moves ahead.

I appreciated how readable the systems are. The tutorial doesn't drown you, and the interface makes it easy to see what's low on supplies at a glance. There's a real puzzle to balancing expansion against safety.

The difficulty curve is steep in the mid-game, which some players will love and others might find punishing. For me it hit the right nerve. Losing a run stung enough to make me try again immediately.
